Mobile windscreen repair across South Wales
Get a stone chip fixed before it turns into a crack. We repair chips at your home or workplace, and a typical repair takes around 20 minutes.
A windscreen chip repair injects a clear, hard-setting resin into the damaged layer of the glass. It restores strength, stops the chip spreading and usually leaves only a faint mark. Chips up to the size of a £1 coin can usually be repaired, which is much cheaper than a new windscreen. Anything larger needs a windscreen replacement.

Why repair a chip straight away?
A windscreen is made of two layers of glass bonded to a plastic interlayer. A chip breaks the outer layer, and changes in temperature, road vibration or a door being slammed can turn it into a crack that runs across the screen. Once that happens, a repair is no longer possible and the whole windscreen has to be replaced.
Can my chip be repaired?
Chips up to the size of a £1 coin can usually be repaired. Anything larger needs a windscreen replacement. We’ll also check where the chip is:
- In front of the driver: the MOT allows very little damage in the central area in front of the steering wheel, so chips here need careful assessment.
- Near the edge of the screen: chips close to the edge are more likely to spread and may need a replacement.
- Long cracks: a crack that has already spread usually means a new windscreen.
The quickest way to find out is to send us a clear photo on WhatsApp, with a £1 coin next to the chip for scale.
How the repair works
- We clean the damaged area and remove any loose glass from the chip.
- We fit a resin injector over the chip and draw out the air.
- Resin is forced into the break and cured so it sets hard.
- We polish the surface flush. The repair is designed to be permanent, not a temporary fix.
What if the chip cracks during the repair?
Occasionally a chip spreads into a crack while we’re repairing it. If that happens, you won’t pay for the repair. Anything you’ve already paid for it comes off the cost of a new windscreen from us.
A small mark may still be visible after a repair. Our repair cover applies to the repair itself. It doesn’t cover the chip spreading at a later date or any new damage.
Repair before it fails an MOT
Chips and cracks in the driver’s view can fail an MOT. Our FAQ sets out the size limits. Getting a small chip repaired early is the cheapest way to stay within them.
Side windows and rear screens are toughened glass, which shatters rather than chips, so they can’t be repaired – see side and rear glass replacement.
