Van windscreen replacement in Cardiff & South Wales – at your yard, site or home

A cracked screen can take a working van off the road. We come to you to replace van windscreens, repair chips and replace side, rear door and sliding door glass, so you lose as little working time as possible.

  • 12-month guarantee covering any fitting issues, such as stress cracks or leaks.

Chip or replacement?

Van windscreens take a lot of punishment from motorway miles, site roads and gravel yards.

  • Chips up to the size of a £1 coin can usually be repaired in around 20 minutes. That’s the cheapest fix, and it stops the chip spreading. See chip repair.
  • Bigger chips, or cracks that have spread, mean a new windscreen.

Light vans – goods vehicles up to 3,500kg (MOT classes 4 and 7) – have their windscreen checked under the same visibility rules as cars. Damage over 10mm in the 290mm-wide zone in front of the driver, or over 40mm elsewhere in the area the wipers sweep, can fail the MOT. Source: GOV.UK MOT inspection manual, section 3.

What happens on the day

  1. Send us the registration and a photo of the damage, and tell us where the van will be.
  2. We check the glass matches your van’s specification and give you a price.
  3. We come to the van at the agreed time and replace the windscreen. Fitting is usually under an hour.
  4. Drive away about an hour after fitting, once the adhesive has set.

Where we can work: we need enough room to open the cab doors and work round the windscreen, on reasonably level ground. On a building site or in a yard, please check we’re allowed to work there and let us know about any site rules.

Side, rear door and sliding door glass

Broken side glass or a smashed rear window after a break-in? We replace van side windows, rear door glass and sliding door glass too, at your yard, site or home. See side and rear glass replacement.

Motorhomes

We can fit glass on some motorhomes. Call us with the make and model to check.

Paying for it: self-employed, business or insurance

  • Paying yourself: we’ll give you a clear quote up front, and we provide VAT invoices.
  • Through insurance: if your van policy has glass cover, we can bill some insurers directly, though not all. Call us with your policy details before work starts and we’ll check. Your excess depends on your own policy, so check your documents or ask your insurer. See insurance claims.
  • Fleets and motor trade: we work with fleet operators and the motor trade as well as private owners. We provide VAT invoices and can set fleet customers up on account – call us to talk about how you’d like jobs booked and invoiced.
