Mobile windscreen replacement across South Wales

South Wales Windscreens replaces windscreens on cars and vans, from family hatchbacks to sports cars, and on some motorhomes – call us with the make and model to check. We don’t work on HGVs. Our technicians fit OEM-certified glass, work to the vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines and can usually do the job within 24 hours of you accepting the quote, subject to stock. Fitting is usually under an hour, and you can drive away about an hour after fitting.

Cracked windscreen? When it needs replacing

We always look at whether a repair is possible first, because it is quicker and cheaper. A replacement is usually needed when:

• a crack has spread across the glass, rather than staying as a small chip;
• the damage is in the driver’s central line of sight, where even a neat repair could leave a distortion and the MOT limits are strict;
• the chip is larger than a £1 coin, or sits close to the edge of the screen;
• the glass has been smashed in an accident or a break-in.

What happens on the day

1. We check the new glass matches your vehicle’s specification, including any heating elements, sensors or camera brackets.
2. We protect the bodywork and interior, remove the trims and wipers, and cut out the damaged screen.
3. We prepare the frame, apply fresh adhesive and fit the new windscreen, then refit the trims and wipers.
4. We clean up and check everything works. Fitting is usually under an hour, and you can drive away about an hour after fitting, once the adhesive has set.

Cameras, sensors and heated screens

Many modern windscreens carry rain and light sensors, a heated element or a camera bracket. When we quote, we use your registration to make sure the replacement glass has the right features.
